In this field recording you can hear that a group of men are singing this call and response song while a-rhythmically hammering rocks. The work there was so sparse in Puglia that they were sitting in the dusty road breaking these stones, making bigger ones into smaller ones as a way to pass the time. They were singing a song that was all about forbidden love...
