Track 6 & 7 - Ballu

Track 6 is an improvised solo on the traditional frame drum at the center of much of Italy’s music, the Tamburello.

Track 7 is inspired by this incredible tradition in Sardegna called “Cantu a Tenore”

Cantu Tenore…”is a style of polyphonic folk singing characteristic of the island of Sardinia (Italy's second largest island), particularly the region of Barbagia, though some other Sardinian sub-regions bear examples of such tradition.”

Since no one in our group is an experienced throat singer, I decided to make the arrangement for this song an instrumental version. The performance this particular night was SO fun! Many people came up to us afterwards saying, “I really liked the animal sound song that you did!”
